Visa requirements
Greece is a member of the European Union (EU) and one of the Schengen Area countries – the world’s largest visa-free zone, see the list of Schengen area countries for details.
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides detailed information on current visa requirements or find the nearest Greek Embassy or Consulate.
Citizens of some countries need an entry visa for Greece. If you need a visa, make sure to apply for one well in advance.
Do I need a visa?
To find out whether you need a visa to travel to Greece, follow the steps:
- Go to the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs web page, https://www.mfa.gr/en/
- Scroll down to the end of the page and find Services.
- Click on Visas.
- Click on Visas for Foreigners travelling to Greece and follow instructions.

Visa assistance
The MCA will provide a detailed invitation letter to all registered participants who need to apply for a visa.
