About the conference

The 26th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, MED’18, will take place from June 19 to June 22, 2018, at the town of Zadar, Croatia.

The theme of MED’18 centers on the growing societal and economic challenges, as well as possible solutions brought by the control, automation and robotics technologies and systems. MED’18 also brings several innovations to the technical program, in terms of new topics, and well as in the format, which includes round tables and student competitions.

The conference will provide a great opportunity for the academic, research and industrial community to exchange ideas and experiences regarding future research directions. A broad range of topics is proposed, following current trends of combining control/systems theory with software/communication technologies, as well as new developments in robotics and mechatronics, autonomous systems, unmanned systems, cyber physical systems, network controlled systems, with the goal of strengthening cooperation of control and automation scientists with industry.

Organization and technical cosponsorship

The MED’18 is organized by the Mediterranean Control Association and KoREMA – Croatian Society for Communications, Computing, Electronics, Measurement and Control.

The MED’18 conference is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Control Systems Society.

Support

The MED’18 is supported by ICUAS – International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems Association, Inc.

Paper submission

The Program Chairs are soliciting contributed technical papers for presentation at the Conference and publication in the Conference Digital Proceedings. All papers must be submitted and uploaded electronically through the PaperCept conference management system (https://controls.papercept.net, click on the link “Submit a Contribution to MED’18” and follow the steps.)

The paper format must follow the IEEE paper submission rules, two-column format using 10 point fonts, Times New Roman. The maximum number of pages per submitted paper is six (6). Up to two (2) additional pages will be permitted for a charge of 100 € per additional page. Illustrations and references are included in the page count.

Invited and Special Sessions

Proposals for invited and special sessions by topic of interest must be submitted and uploaded electronically. A Summary Statement describing the motivation and relevance of the proposed session, invited paper titles and author names must be uploaded electronically by due date. In addition, authors must submit FULL versions of invited papers electronically, through https://controls.papercept.net. Each such paper must be marked as “Invited Session Paper”.

Workshops and Tutorials

Proposals for workshops and tutorials should contain the title of the event, the list of speakers, and extended summaries (2000 words) of their presentations. Proposals must be uploaded electronically and sent by e-mail to the Tutorial and Workshop Chair by due date.

Review process and proceedings

All submitted papers will undergo a peer review process coordinated by the Program Chairs, the Advisory Committee Members, the IPC and qualified reviewers.

Authors are encouraged to accompany their presentations with multimedia material (i.e., videos), which will be included in the Conference Digital Proceedings.
